Humboldt-Schule students experienced Tea Ceremony and Calligraphy!

Today, the German students had the opportunity to try calligraphy and tea ceremony.

For tea ceremony, Japanese department teacher Nakano-sensei acted as lecturer and explained the origins of tea and how to properly prepare matcha. While for calligraphy, Japanese department teacher Nada-sensei was the lecturer and taught them how to hold and write with a calligraphy brush.

These are types of Japanese culture which would be difficult to directly experience in Germany. However, the students enthusiastically participated and it would be good if this would lead to a greater interest in Japanese culture.
